Jammu, Oct 05 (KNO): The 204th Raksha Pension Samadhan Ayojan (RPSA) for defence veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents will be held at Akhnoor on October 7 and 8, officials said.
In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the Indian Defence Forces, under the aegis of the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV), are organising the 204th ‘Raksha Pension Samadhan Ayojan’ (RPSA) at Akhnoor.
He said the event is a significant step towards ensuring the well-being and grievance redressal of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their dependents.
“The event will be held on 7th and 8th October 2026 (Wednesday & Thursday) from 9 am to 5 pm. This iteration of the RPSA, which translates to ‘Defence Pension Resolution Initiative,’ is specifically dedicated to Defence Forces veterans. It will be hosted at the Sangha Auditorium in Akhnoor.”
The spokesperson said the core aim of the ayojan is to live up to the promise made in its tagline: “Your Pension – Our Commitment.” A large turnout of veterans from the Defence Forces, along with Veer Naris and their family members, is expected to attend.
He said the aim is not just to provide services but also to interact with the heroes who have served the nation. The RPSA is designed as a one-stop shop to address all pension-related issues. For this purpose, several help desks and stalls will be established at the venue.
The spokesperson said these services will include pension-related queries and resolution, updating of records, family pension assistance, specific guidance for dependents, digital pension services support such as SPARSH, and interaction with pension authorities.
Furthermore, the RPSA aims to streamline communication between veterans and key organisations such as Records Offices, banks that handle pensions, and other government welfare bodies. The unique feature is the focus on “in-situ grievance redressal”, ensuring that problems are resolved on the spot whenever possible or that the process is initiated with clarity.
He said the two-day event will emphasise that while the nation progresses, the Indian Army remains deeply committed to the welfare of its veterans. All veterans and their next of kin in the region are encouraged to attend and make use of the opportunity to resolve their issues and learn about the full spectrum of welfare schemes curated for them—(KNO)
